Our client, Xavier Veilhan, wanted to create a archival printed expression of his Architectones installations that occurred over the previous several years. His installation work, interpreting and adding sculptural energy to each iconic architectural structure, had to be visualized in a befitting print piece that captured the essence of early and mid 20th century architectural moments, with a contemporary use of materials and color.
The collaboration resulted in a solid art object with a sophisticated elegance and presence that echoed Veilhan’s work. We printed directly onto the book cloth, using contemporary offset techniques, and chose a bright ultramarine for the painted edges of the book block, adding a subtle drama and surprise for the viewer.
