Before the release of her third studio album, Kimbra wanted to create some dynamic promotional photography that would set a new tone for her art and image — a more mature, clean and raw look. We worked closely with John Michael Fulton and his team to create a range of looks that span from dark and moody, to poppy and nostalgic.

We set out to capture Kimbra in ways that hadn’t been portrayed before, vulnerable, honest, and direct. Kimbra naturally brought an inimitable energy to the images, carrying the spirit of Kate Bush and Patti Smith, amongst others.
